Idea for System Monitor
Monday, May 2nd, 2005Just thought I’d jot down an idea I had while trying to improve the performance of my computer but without reinstalling Windows. This may have already been done. Everyone knows that a fresh installation of windows runs faster than one that has been used for a while. Also a lot of problems crop up after installing some software. Software installation is a little of a black cloud in that you don’t know what is installed where. I think a piece of software that monitors the windows folder periodically for changes and logs them and displays them on some dashboard, along with something that works the same for the registry could quickly alert someone to unwanted in-the-background changes that we all know happen but don’t know when. And would also remove some of the mystery of the Windows slow-down.
